So you’ve landed the job interview and now you’re face to face with your future boss…take advantage of this moment and ask these questions to asses if this is a good career move or not!

      1.  What is your managerial style? – Basically with this question you are trying to asses if your future boss is a micro-manager or mentor. This information is vital as it can affect job satisfaction as well as growth. You want a boss that is willing to mentor, one who allows you to achieve results your way.

2.   What were the major strengths and weaknesses of the last person who held this job? – I personally love this question because knowing this information will give you an upper hand.  Take note and make it your to do to play on and improve your predecessors strengths, as for the weaknesses, avoid repeating his mistakes and rock it! ;P

3.  What do you enjoy most about working here? After I ask this question I like to evaluate their facial expressions to see if they are being sincere. It’s always appeasing when they show enthusiasm in their response.

4.  What are the career paths in this department? Or is there room for growth? – I prefer to ask about career paths as it is a more open-ended question which allows more input!

5.  In your opinion what are the biggest obstacles I will encounter in this role? – It’s always good to know what challenges to expect.
